The analog experience
My very first job was in a small, family-run kiosk. I worked every Wednesday afternoon after school—and with that came full access to every magazine on the rack. Fashion, interiors, celebrity gossip… I was always up to date. At home, stacks of weekly and monthly magazines would land on our coffee table, only to be returned to the kiosk once the new batch arrived.
Magazines have always been a pause in the everyday for me. Whether I’m on an airplane, eating lunch at my desk, or lounging on a Sunday, a good interior magazine still feels like a mini vacation.
..The smell of ink, the tactile rhythm of turning a page, the chance to slow down and actually read. Sure, it’s not the most sustainable habit—but there’s something grounding about the analog experience, especially when paired with coffee and a quiet moment.
So, do people still read print?
