Transformation of Shared Spaces

The renovation of Alti Amanda marks a significant upgrade of the shopping centre’s shared areas — with a particular focus on the restrooms. What was once a purely functional space has been expanded and transformed into something more refined and welcoming.

The new facilities include additional restrooms, accessible toilets, and a dedicated nursing room for the centre’s youngest visitors. With carefully chosen materials and a focus on accessibility, the result feels both exclusive and approachable. Small design gestures have had a surprisingly big impact — not only in atmosphere but also in behaviour. Since completion, the centre has seen a remarkable decrease in vandalism; people tend to care for spaces that feel cared for.

Beyond the restrooms, we have assisted in upgrading all lighting throughout the centre’s 38,000 m² of shared areas — introducing a modern, energy-efficient system that enhances both the spatial experience and long-term sustainability. The project also included the redesign of the main entrances and exterior colour palette, tying together the new street-level extension with the existing structure.

A 1990s shopping centre has entered a new era — one that feels coherent, contemporary, and ready for the future.
